Since 2008 I have been enjoying the wide range of challenges which being a freelance illustrator has bought my way. From working in a school as artist in residence to designing and making a 16m interactive mural for Homestart, from private commissions to make dog portraits as Civil War generals to illustrating a whole book on women's history. I specialise in developing digital illustrations using Adobe Photoshop, however I was heavily influenced in my early days by illustrators of the 19th and early 20th century. I try to bring the draughtsmanship of my heroes to the digital tools available today. I am currently undertaking an MA in Design Practice at Glyndwr University, Wrexham, North Wales.

• Learning Support Assistant.
  After graduating in 2008 I worked part time for three years as a Learning Support Assistant at Glyndwr University, Wrexham (predominantly the North Wales School of Art & Design.) I supported adult students with a range of learning problems through their various arts based BA(Hons) courses.

• Mentorship and tutoring.
  I have worked with a young man who has been home schooled to help develop his (already considerable) drawing and design skills.

• 16m interactive mural for preschoolers.
  I designed, made and installed a 16m long interactive mural for preschoolers in a play area. Commissioned by the Home Start Organization.

• Teaching Basic Drawing Skills
  With a colleague I provided a series of ten weekly sessions on drawing for adult beginners. Covered mark making, observational drawing, life drawing, textural mark making and digital drawing.

• "Artist in Residence."
  I provided a weekly arts club for a local primary school (ages 4-10)for six months in 2009. Working with each year separately we looked at drawing (mark making and constructing drawings) as well as basic print making (monoprints and relief prints).
